- Cynthia Stevens must pay Inspire Property Management Limited $4,634.00 immediately, calculated as shown in table below.
Reasons
- This Order ought to be read in conjunction with the Tribunal Order dated 13 August 2024. In that Order I made a number of findings but the hearing on that day was adjourned so that the landlord had an opportunity to obtain information about a bond and the landlord’s insurance.
- The adjourned hearing today was scheduled to be heard by teleconference. As with the previous hearing on 13 August 2024 the tenant did not answer her phone either of the times I called and so the hearing proceeded in her absence.
- At today’s hearing the landlord advised that they had now received the bond of $1400.00 and so the amount owed by the tenant has been adjusted accordingly.
- I have also added reimbursement of the filing fee because the landlord was wholly successful in the claim made against the tenant.
- There has been no other adjustments because I accept that the landlord did not have insurance cover for the damages that occurred during the tenancy. C ter Haar 16 October 2024
