Tenancy Tribunal case 5484032 — Rent arrears at 67 Maioro Street, New Windsor, Auckland 0600
Decided 5 May 2026 · Published 5 May 2026 · Application 5484032
Landlord favoured
- Rent arrears
Order
- Colin Vowles and Joanne Vowles must pay Yellow Group Property Management Limited As Agent For Lawrence Bow $831.34 immediately, calculated as shown in table below.
- The Bond Centre is to pay the bond of $2,680.00 (6183678-002) to Yellow Group Property Management Limited As Agent For Lawrence Bow immediately.
Reasons
- The landlord attended the hearing via videoconference. The tenant did not.
- The landlord has applied for rent arrears, compensation, refund of the bond, and reimbursement of the filing fee following the end of the tenancy.
- The tenancy ended on 17 April 2026. The landlord provided rent records and water rates invoices which prove the amount owing at the end of the tenancy.
- I order the tenant to pay the landlord $3,253.26 for rent and $230.08 for water rates arrears.
- At the time of the hearing, the landlord was waiting for the tenant’s rubbish to be picked up. If rubbish is not picked up within a week, the landlord will need to make another application to the Tribunal for the fees incurred for the rubbish disposal. The tenant is encouraged to have the rubbish picked up so no further hearings become necessary. The tenant will be liable for the cost of rubbish disposal.
- As the landlord has wholly succeeded with the application, the tenant must reimburse the landlord’s filing fee.
- Finally, the bond is to be paid to the landlord to offset the actual amount payable by the tenant.
