This hearing was conducted by teleconference. Ms Stacek represented the landlord. The tenants were contacted multiple times on the numbers provided and all calls went to voicemail. The hearing therefore proceeded in their absence.
This is a periodic tenancy which began on 26 October 2019. The rent is $485.00 per week and a bond of $1,230.00 was paid.
The landlord has applied for termination of the tenancy, rent arrears and payment from the bond. The landlord’s application was submitted on 18 January 2024.
The landlord has explained the background to this application being made, including attempts made to resolve the issues with the tenants. The tenants are now well over three weeks in arrears with their rent.

Should the tenancy be terminated?
